Supported rate
Supported rate is the share of sampled answers that both name your brand and cite one of your own domains in the same answer. It is the strongest presence rate because the mention and the evidence are anchored to each other.
Why it resists entity confusion
Entity confusion is a real failure mode in AI answers. A brand with a common name can be credited with a competitor's features, and two companies sharing a word can be blended into one. A rate that requires the answer to name you and cite your own property in the same response is entity-grounded by construction: the answer itself has connected the name to something you control.
What a low supported rate usually means
Most often it means engines are learning about you secondhand. They know the name from other people's pages and never reach yours. That points at two checks worth running before anything else: whether AI crawlers are permitted to fetch your site at all, and whether the pages they fetch carry your claims in extractable text rather than only inside images, scripts, or client-rendered components.
